Specialist Recycling at Wasteless Pantry

Not everything can be recycled via your yellow top kerbside bin. But, some items not collected by a truck can still be recycled. Wasteless Pantry offers a collection facility for some tricky items.​

Bread Tag Recycling Program

This program collects for recycling all bread tags.

Available at Mundaring, Bassendean, and Greenwood.

Contact Lens Recycling Program

This program collects and returns all brands of contact lenses and all brands of contact lens blister packs.

Please keep all cardboard packaging out of the contact lens collection box.

Available at Mundaring, Bassendean, and Greenwood until 12th February (program is closing down, unfortunately).

Disposable Razor Recycling Program

This program collects and returns all brands of disposable blades and razors as well as their plastic packaging. Please recycle all cardboard packaging through your yellow top kerbside recycling bin.

Hair Care/Dye Kits:

This program collects and returns all brands of hair colouring packaging (including gloves) and hair care packaging that can’t be recycled via your kerbside recycling bin.

Please keep all cardboard packaging out of the collection box.

Household Batteries:

All household batteries are accepted. 

Available at Mundaring, Bassendean, and Greenwood.

Ink Cartridge Recycling Program:

This program collects and returns brand name inkjet, toner cartridges, toner bottles and other imaging consumables from printers, fax machines and photocopiers for reprocessing and recycling. Please keep all packaging out of the cartridge collection box.

Available at Mundaring and Bassendean. Please recycle your ink cartridges at the Post Office across from our Greenwood store if you are in this area.

Metal Lids

This program collects metal lids from beer and wine bottles only.

Available at Bassendean only.

Mobile Phone Recycling Program

This program collects all mobile phones and chargers.

Data is removed and then they are donated to those in need for reuse.

Those that aren’t able to be reused or where data is unable to be removed are sent to Mobile Muster for recycling.

Oral Care Recycling Program 

This program collects empty toothpaste tubes and caps, plastic toothpaste and toothbrush packaging, plastic toothbrushes and floss containers.

Please keep all bamboo toothbrushes out of the oral care collection box.

Plastic Bottle Top and Rings Recycling Program (on hold since 29th March 2021)

This program collects and returns to Greenbatch for recycling all small beverage plastic bottle tops and rings (only if still attached to the top as they can jam the equipment if loose). Please remove foam inserts.

Ring Pull Recycling Program

This program collects for recycling all aluminium can ring pulls.

Available at Mundaring and Bassendean, not yet at Greenwood.

Writing Instruments Recycling Program:

All writing instruments (except for wooden pencils, crayons and chalk) are accepted:

Any brand of pen, felt tip, highlighter, marker, correction fluid pot (must be empty), correction tape, mechanical pencil and eraser pen regardless of their composition.

Note that we do not accept glue sticks, erasers, rulers or other cutting objects that could disturb the recycling process. Please be careful not to include any of those items.
